The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, who finished a successful multi-day visit to Japan early this morning our time, stated that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio had requested a meeting with him during his upcoming stay in New York, where he will attend the UN General Assembly, and that he believes it is possible to resolve the issue of US tariffs.
When asked by a journalist in Tokyo at the end of a multi-day working visit to Japan, whether his stay in New York for the UN General Assembly would be an opportunity to meet with some representatives of the American administration and discuss the problem of tariffs.
“I received a message 10 minutes ago that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio requested a meeting with me, so there’s an opportunity to talk about it. And I will try to talk with (US Secretary of the Treasury Scott Besent) from the Treasury Department, because these sanctions are now becoming important for us,” the president said, as reported by RTS, citing Tanjug.
Vučić pointed out that he is not even allowed to say what level of investment a company from Japan will have in Serbia if they resolve the issue of tariffs.
-So I believe that’s possible, Vučić concluded. Vučić added.
