Vojvodina is an inseparable part of the national political, constitutional and cultural identity of modern Serbia and as there is no Serbia without Vojvodina, Vojvodina cannot exist outside of Serbia, according to the text of the National Declaration on Vojvodina, which, as announced by Aleksandar Vučić, President of Serbia, will be adopted on Sretenje.

“The latest events in the northern Serbian province, the revival of separatist ideas and movements, the public advocacy of ideas about a ‘Vojvodina nation’, language and Orthodox church, and the announcement of the adoption of some kind of ‘Vojvodina Platform’, oblige us to protect the territorial integrity and wholeness of the Serbian state by actively acting in the social and political sphere,” it is stated at the beginning of the Declaration, the text of which was published by today’s “Politika”.

“For this purpose, starting from the Constitution of Serbia, which was adopted by the sovereign will of the citizens and whose principles proclaim that Serbia is a state of the Serbian people and all citizens who live in it, as well as that the territory of Serbia is unique and indivisible, citizens are proposed the National Declaration on Vojvodina, which contains five points,” it is stated.

First and second point

The first point refers to the historical development of Serbian Vojvodina, the second speaks of the continuous attempts of etatism of Vojvodina and the imposition of the idea of the so-called Vojvodina nation, in which it is stated that without historical basis, social, economic and national justification, Vojvodina separatism was artificially created, euphemistically defined as “autonomism”.

Third point

The third point speaks of the constitutional and legal position of Vojvodina after the Second World War – from an autonomous province whose autonomy is expanding through a quasi-federal community to the return to the constitutional framework of standard political-territorial autonomy.

Fourth point

The fourth point describes the stopping of separatist tendencies and the return of AP Vojvodina to the constitutional framework (2012-2014).

Fifth point

The topic of the fifth point is Vojvodina as a multicultural, multinational and multi-confessional community based on the equality of citizens.

It emphasizes that the renaissance that is coming in the relations between Serbs and Hungarians in the last 10 years is the best proof that the autonomist-etatist model of the organization of Vojvodina not only did not contribute to international harmony, but that its rejection was a necessary precondition for the improvement of understanding, harmony and cooperation among national communities in the province.

Vojvodina, as it is emphasized, is an expression of European values, a community of all citizens who live on the territory of the autonomous province, as much as it is an inseparable part of the national political, constitutional and cultural identity of modern Serbia.

These spiritual verticals do not negate each other, but complement each other.

The promotion of other particularistic, autonomist and even separatist and anti-Serbian content represents an extreme perversion and, consequently, a complete negation of the great ideals on which Vojvodina was built, it is added.

“Vojvodina is not just a part of Serbia, Vojvodina is Serbia, Vojvodina is the first name, and Serbia is the last name, and as there is no Serbia without Vojvodina, Vojvodina cannot exist outside of Serbia,” the declaration concludes.
