The monuments of national heroes Moša Pijade, Lole Ribar, Đuro Đaković, and Ivan Milutinović at Kalemegdan were found this morning defaced with Nazi symbols.

White swastikas were drawn across the busts and marble plaques, which are an integral part of the monuments.

This is not the first time these monuments have been desecrated; in 2022, they were sprayed with black and red paint.

Yesterday, the monument of Borislav Pekić, one of the most prominent Serbian writers, was also vandalized at Cvetni Trg in Belgrade.
