Donald Trump is in “excellent health,” according to the medical report of the U.S. president released yesterday following his routine visit to the doctor.
The seventy-nine-year-old president of the United States underwent his second medical examination since returning to the White House in January, at the Walter Reed Military Hospital near Washington.
During the examination, it was determined that his heart age is “about 14 years younger than his chronological age,” according to the health report shared by Trump’s spokesperson.
“President Donald Trump remains in extraordinary health with good cardiovascular, pulmonary, neurological, and physical performance,” reads the document signed by the physician to the president, Sean Barbabella.
“In preparation for upcoming international travel, President Trump also underwent preventive health screenings and vaccinations, including the annual flu shot and an updated Covid-19 booster dose,” wrote the president’s doctor.
Interestingly, Trump received a Covid-19 booster vaccination, while Health Secretary Robert Kennedy Jr., known for his skepticism toward vaccines, has limited access to Covid-19 vaccines, reports the French news agency AFP.
As the White House announced on Wednesday, this “routine annual medical examination” followed an earlier health check in April, when Trump’s doctor had already assessed him to be in good health.
Donald Trump, who is so far the oldest president to have taken the oath of office in the U.S., has not been spared from questions and speculation about his health, although they are far less intense than those directed at his predecessor, Democrat Joe Biden.
Trump has been seen with bruises on his right hand, and recent footage shows that he uses a thick layer of makeup over the affected area.
The White House stated in July that the bruises were caused by “frequent handshakes” and his use of aspirin, which they described as a standard cardiovascular treatment. The U.S. government also reported that Trump suffers from chronic venous insufficiency, a common and benign condition that, in his case, manifests as swelling around the ankles.
