White House chief Donald Trump issued a warning to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky ahead of talks scheduled for December 28, the British newspaper Daily Express reports.
As stated, Trump assessed that any peace plan from Kyiv is “meaningless” unless it receives his approval, noting that it is “worth seeing what Zelensky has to offer.” At the same time, the U.S. president expressed confidence that the prospects for resolving the conflict in Ukraine are very high.
According to announcements, Trump will meet with Zelensky at his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida on Sunday, December 28. In some circles, the talks are interpreted as a sign of a significant step toward the possible achievement of an agreement. The White House chief previously said that he is ready for a personal meeting with the Ukrainian president only if, in his assessment, the deal is entering its final phase.
On the other hand, Zelensky claims that “Trump’s plan is 90 percent agreed.” At the same time, it is noted that the upcoming talks in Florida will be held without the participation of senior representatives of the European Union.
