US President Donald Trump announced that the Pentagon, on his orders, carried out an attack on a ship that was transporting narcotics in international waters. In the action, three members of the drug cartel were killed, and the American forces did not suffer any losses. The attack was carried out as part of a broader operation to combat drug trafficking in the South and Central American region.
On the social network Truth Social, the head of the White House, Donald Trump, stated that the ship was connected to a terrorist organization that deals with drug trafficking in the US Southern Command zone, and that, on his orders, the Pentagon carried out an attack. In the action, as he stated, three of its members were killed.
According to him, intelligence services confirmed that the vessel was trafficking illegal narcotics, using known drug smuggling routes that, as he stated, threaten American citizens.
However, Trump did not provide more details about the origin of the ship or the exact location of the attack.
This attack occurred at a time of increased US military presence in the region, including the deployment of five F-35 fighter jets to Puerto Rico, as well as the sending of additional combat aircraft with stealth technology, on the orders of the administration.
There are currently at least seven US warships, as well as one nuclear submarine, in the US Southern Command zone.
