After the victory of his life, Nikola Topić was welcomed like a hero when he entered the game and finally played basketball again.
Nikola Topić appeared in a G League game in which the Oklahoma City Blue defeated the Sioux Falls Skyforce 137:135, and that moment in the middle of the first quarter drew huge attention.
Topić entered the game for the first time after beating testicular cancer, and everyone present in the arena first greeted it with applause and then with ovations as they all stood up.

Literally, because his inbound pass immediately led to a basket.
He finished the game with seven points and an assist, making three of five shots from the field (1/2 from three-point range), and he also grabbed one rebound.
Mark Daigneault, the head coach of Oklahoma, did not hide his satisfaction with Topić’s return and praised him in particular.
“We were all excited to watch him play basketball. We know he was missed and that’s a big deal, and this is important for him to get back on his feet mentally,” Daigneault began about Topić.

Topić was the 12th pick in the NBA Draft despite tearing a knee ligament two months earlier. Still, the head coach has no doubt that Topić will be an important factor.
“A great achievement! I can’t say enough good things about him – mental strength, maturity, perseverance… He hadn’t played basketball for two years, comes back after a year of rehabilitation and is immediately met with a surprising diagnosis, then three rounds of chemotherapy… Just returning to the court is an incredible achievement and we’re thrilled for him,” Daigneault emphasized.
