People, especially young people, use Artificial Intelligence for all sorts of things – from asking classic questions that once went to Google, to advice, and even intimate topics that used to be discussed with friends.
However, one Serbian woman used ChatGPT for a completely different purpose – she asked it to help her choose the perfect watermelon. As she stated in a video, she asked the artificial intelligence to select the sweetest watermelon for her, attaching a photo of watermelons from a store, and a concrete answer quickly arrived.
“-Recommendation: Based on the image, the watermelon in the top row, second from the right (slightly creamy yellow spot, round, darker green stripes) seems like an excellent choice – it is very likely sweet and ripe. If you want additional help with the selection when you are there live, I can also tell you how to test it by tapping or pressing,” ChatGPT replied.
The girl decided to listen to ChatGPT and bought the recommended watermelon. After she arrived home, she immediately decided to try it, and, as she admitted herself, she was delighted with the choice.

“-It’s sweet, it’s great, and it hasn’t spoiled, meaning it hasn’t started to crystallize. Ideal. If you don’t know, ask ChatGPT next time,” she said enthusiastically.
After she posted the video on social media, many rushed to comment, and opinions were divided.
“Why didn’t I think of this?”, “Smart use of ChatGPT”, “You can’t choose a watermelon like you choose a wife, you can only get lucky, so it’s just pure coincidence”, “Nonsense… to learn the craft of choosing, you need to learn what sound a ripe watermelon makes when ‘tapping'”, were just some of the comments in the series.
One user who saw this girl’s post decided to test ChatGPT and see if it was really infallible. He took the same photo that the girl used and also asked it to choose the sweetest watermelon; however, the artificial intelligence recommended a completely different watermelon from the one the girl bought, so many concluded that ChatGPT is not infallible after all.
