The students in the blockade announced on their Instagram profile that their colleague from the Faculty of Computer Science was beaten near Pionirski Park.
The student, Bogdan T. (24), is currently in the Emergency Center undergoing four specialist examinations, the student’s family confirmed to N1 last night.
As stated in the official police report, which N1 had access to, the student reported that he was “passing in front of the National Assembly Building around 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday.”
“And in front of the steps leading to the building’s entrance, several young men approached me without any reason or provocation, telling me to stop filming with my phone. I told them I wasn’t filming anything, and they surrounded me, and when I started to call the police, they began hitting me with their hands on the head and body,” the student stated, according to the report.
He added that “one of the young men introduced himself as a police officer, and when I asked him if he had a badge, he said that they would beat me now.”
“They immediately took my mobile phone, took off my jacket and shirt, as well as the backpack containing my laptop, and then threw me to the ground and started hitting me with their hands and feet, while one of them tried to break my arm with a crowbar. This lasted for about 15 minutes, after which I remained lying on the ground, and they threw my shirt on me, telling me that it was indecent to lie naked in front of the Assembly,” he stated.
He also stated that his “head was spinning.”
“And I was unable to get up, and the blow that had the most effect was a hand strike to the back of the head by one of them. Then Assembly security personnel appeared and took me up the stairs where I waited for the police to arrive. Upon the police’s arrival, I saw that my backpack was hung on a trash can standing in the middle of the street, and when I asked the police officers to get it, the laptop was not inside,” the official police report states.
