Student Ana, whose jaw was broken by SNS activists in January, addressed the crowd at the “Women in Defense of Life in Serbia” protest in Novi Sad. “Today, I am not speaking softly. This is the first time I am giving a speech, and today I am not speaking softly, even though my jaw was broken in January. Today, I am speaking clearly – not as a victim, but as a woman who survived, as a woman who decided not to be silent,” Ana stated.

In her speech, she emphasized that “a woman is not born to be silent.”

“Today, I’m not talking about myself for you to pity me; I’m talking for you to remember – they can break my bones, but they will never break what keeps us upright, and that is dignity. This is not just a fight for us; this is a fight for the little girl who doesn’t know her worth, for the mother who is ashamed of her bruises, for the woman who thinks she is alone,” she declared.

Ana added that “her message is not quiet, but screams – enough of violence and silence.”

“Enough of others writing our history. We are writing it now with our bodies, our voices, our walk through cities that did not protect us. But we are no longer walking alone,” she said.

She stressed that “the world changes when women raise their voices.”

“We have already started, and we will not stop, because women will save the world,” she concluded.
