The grill masters from the restaurants “Dva drugara” and “Koliba” today, with combined forces, managed to make a record-breaking pljeskavica weighing 90 kilograms at the Roštiljijada in Leskovac, which is 3.6 kilograms more than last year.
The thickness of the pljeskavica was two centimeters, and the diameter before baking was 226 centimeters, and after baking it was 217 centimeters.
“I’m flying from happiness. A month ago, a pljeskavica weighing 88 kilograms was made in Slovenia, but with these 90, we returned the shine to Leskovac and the knowledge that it is number one in the world when it comes to grilling. There were six of us in the team, because as we increase the weight, we also have to increase the number of the team,” said Ivica Zdravković, who participated in making the largest pljeskavica for the fourth time.

The president of the jury, Slaviša Milošević, pointed out that the pljeskavica was perfectly thermally processed and that everything was done as it should be.
“I have been following this event for so many years, and I think that this time the pljeskavica was the best thermally processed. I believe they can go up to 100 kilograms, but that depends on the preparation of the meat and these auxiliary trays used for shaping. This time the tray was 227 centimeters, and if they manage to make a new one of about 230, they can probably go up to 100 kilograms. The future is ahead of them, they are ambitious, and I think they can do it,” Milošević said.
