The funerals of the young people who died in the fire at a disco in Kočani are being held throughout North Macedonia. The largest funeral will be held in Kočani at 12 o’clock, considering that about 30 of the deceased are from this municipality.
Citizens have already started gathering in the city center, from where they will walk to the city cemetery, reports the N1 reporter. Strict security measures have been introduced, as requested by the family members of the deceased, who want their privacy to be respected. This was also done due to the assessment of security institutions.
Therefore, the police introduced a security perimeter for the media, who will be able to follow the funeral from a distance of 300 meters.
According to our information, the funeral is expected to be massive, and thousands of citizens will attend.
The head of the Macedonian Orthodox Church will serve the funeral service.

In Kočani, ceremonies of honoring were held yesterday, a liturgy for those killed in the fire at this disco, and a commemoration was also held, where fellow citizens, teachers, friends and families paid tribute to their loved ones.
Also, the Ministry of Internal Affairs appealed to citizens to hold gatherings in a peaceful atmosphere during these days of mourning and to show dignity.
According to the latest information, the Basic Court in Kočani yesterday made a decision to extend the detention for all 16 suspects involved in the disco Puls fire case and ordered a short-term detention measure for another 48 hours.
The investigation conducted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of North Macedonia regarding the accident in Kočani has so far included a total of 26 people, but the Minister of Internal Affairs Panče Toškovski says that this is not the final number. In the fire at a disco in Kočani, 59 people died, and about 200 were seriously injured.
