Teodora Špirić, the author of the winning song at Eurovision 2025, has spoken out and revealed how the track “Wasted love” came about.
The song “Wasted love,” performed by JJ from Austria, won Eurovision 2025, and the song was written by Serbian woman Teodora Špirić.
She recently revealed how the song that brought victory to Austria was created in a post she recently shared on her Instagram profile.
“Dear wasted love, what a journey you took us on. From the moment we wrote you, to you coming to life through one of the most incredible voices I’ve ever had the honor of writing for, all the way to this moment, I knew you were special.
I was only supposed to be a songwriter. But somewhere along the way, I found myself in the middle of the ocean leading the creative direction, sailing through the rough waters of preparations and investing every part of myself to bring you to life.
Thank you, Ji, for your trust. It means the world to me to be able to stand by your side and watch you become the artist and performer you were always meant to be. I am proud of you and this project.
