Authorities had all the mechanisms and all the time to meet demands and prevent escalation. Instead, they opted for violence and repression against citizens. Every radicalization of the situation is their responsibility.
They had previously announced on the same account that a student from the Faculty of Biology had been attacked, as well as many other citizens.
“We are extremely concerned that some of the injured students are unable to reach the temporary hospital at the Teacher’s Faculty. We demand that the police urgently and without hesitation release all students to the Teacher’s Faculty,” the students wrote.
They added that they do not forgive injustice.
“An attack on one is an attack on all of us. Tonight, we are all together. And we protect each other. It escalated. After seven months of protests, walks, blockades – tonight it culminated. We are on the streets. Students. Citizens. Friends. Sisters and brothers,” they stated.
They emphasized that is why they are staying together tonight.
“We will not abandon each other. We are careful. We protect. We will not retreat. And we will not be lost,” the students said.
