SHOWERS WITH THUNDER ARE COMING: RHMZ announced when bad weather is expected in Serbia, here’s where the most intense impact will be!

The Republic Hydrometeorological Institute (RHMZ) announced that today (September 14) on the territory of Serbia, unstable weather is expected with rain and showers with thunder, which will be more pronounced in the afternoon, with a large amount of precipitation in a short period of time, as well as local occurrences of hail, and strong and stormy winds. During the night in the Košava region, a moderate to strong southeast wind will blow, and in the south of Banat, a stormy southeast wind with gusts of 20 to 24 m/s.

An orange meteorological alert will be in effect for the whole of Serbia, and for specific locations, urgent warnings will be issued one to two hours in advance, according to the RHMZ.

Special warning for Belgrade

The RHMZ has also issued a special warning for the Belgrade area regarding severe weather.

“Today (September 14) in the afternoon on the territory of Belgrade, unstable weather with rain and showers with thunder, which will be more pronounced, with a large amount of precipitation in a short period of time and strong and stormy winds in the zone of the most intense thunderstorm processes.”

What awaits us next week

On Sunday in Serbia, a temporary cloud cover from the northwest is expected with rain and showers with thunder, which will affect the northern, western, and southwestern parts in the morning and forenoon and will spread to the rest of the country by the end of the day. More pronounced showers are expected in the afternoon and evening, when a large amount of precipitation in a short period of time is also possible, as well as a local occurrence of hail.

In the Košava region, a moderate to strong southeast wind will blow in the first part of the day, with stormy gusts in the south of Banat and in the lower Podunavlje. The wind will weaken in the afternoon and turn to a northwest direction, except in the area of the most intense thunderstorm processes where it can be strong and stormy. The lowest temperature will be from 12 to 20 °C, and the highest from 23 °C in the northwest to 30 °C in the southeast of Serbia.

Next week, mostly sunny weather with variable cloudiness is expected, and short-term precipitation is expected only on Monday morning and forenoon in the east and south, and on Tuesday and Wednesday in the north of Serbia.
