According to the latest information, at least two people were killed and three more were wounded and transported to the hospital in a shooting that occurred early this morning local time at a casino in Reno, Nevada, officials told the Associated Press.
The attacker opened fire outside the Grand Sierra Resort casino, wounding multiple individuals before being arrested, police announced.
The condition of the victims is currently unknown, said Reno police spokesman Chris Johnson. The attacker is receiving hospital treatment, Johnson added.

Caroline Ackerman, spokeswoman for Renown Regional Medical Center hospital, stated that the facility’s emergency department received multiple patients with gunshot wounds.
“The shooting was reported around 7:30 a.m. local time, outside the casino, in the vehicle reception area,” Johnson said.
A spokesman for the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that a police officer was involved in the shooting. Reno police warned citizens to avoid the area. A large number of emergency services responded to the scene, including several ambulances.

The Grand Sierra Resort boasts the largest casino floor in northern Nevada and is located just a few blocks from the International Airport. It is also one of the tallest buildings in the city, with nearly 2,000 hotel rooms.
In the fall of 2024, President Donald Trump held a campaign rally in the resort’s main ballroom.
