The Government of Serbia has officially adopted a resolution to provide one-time financial aid of 300,000 dinars to individuals held in prisons and detention centers under the authority of the provisional self-government institutions in Priština, in the Autonomous Province of Kosovo and Metohija.

According to an official statement from the government, the aid is intended for individuals facing what Serbian authorities describe as “fabricated criminal proceedings” related to alleged war crimes committed during the 1998–1999 armed conflict against Albanians in the region, as well as other politically motivated prosecutions.

“This one-time financial assistance of 300,000 dinars will be provided to individuals detained under these grounds in prisons and court detention units in Kosovo and Metohija, in accordance with records maintained by the Office for Kosovo and Metohija,” the statement said.

The government emphasized that disbursement of the aid will be carried out as quickly as possible, highlighting its commitment to support what it calls victims of political persecution in the region.
