The Serbian Embassy in Caracas announced today that there are no Serbian citizens or dual nationals among those killed or injured in the two devastating earthquakes that struck Venezuela overnight.

A statement from Serbia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs added that all individuals contacted by the Embassy are safe and that no issues requiring consular intervention have been reported.

There are not many Serbian citizens currently residing in Venezuela, as the country is not among the more common tourist destinations for Serbian nationals.

The Embassy has also been in contact with dual nationals and Venezuelan citizens of Serbian descent, all of whom confirmed that they are safe and well.

All employees of the Serbian Embassy in Caracas are safe, and the embassy building has not sustained any damage.

The Serbian Embassy continues to monitor the situation on the ground and remains available to Serbian citizens in Venezuela for any necessary information and consular assistance, the statement said.
