Slobodan Bodo Jokić, a Serb from Chicago who holds a highly significant position as a Republican committeeman in Maine Township, will be the host next Tuesday, December 9, of the largest gathering of Republican Party candidates for the elections to be held in 2026, the so-called Midterm Election.
The event, which will bring together the most prominent Republican candidates, will be held at the Pickwick Theatre in Park Ridge, a Chicago suburb where a large number of our immigrants live, starting at 6 PM.
“This will be an opportunity to hear firsthand what the candidates for the most important positions in this U.S. state have to offer from the Republican Party. I also hope that it will be interesting for our people who live in Chicago and the surrounding area to come and hear how the people who may one day lead Illinois or represent us in Washington, in the Senate and the House of Representatives, think,” Jokić told Serbian Times.
At the upcoming gathering, among others, the speakers will include candidates for governor: Bailey (Delmar), Dabrowski, Heidner, Mendrick (Renteria), Severino, Solomon; as well as politicians running for the U.S. Senate: Capparelli, Chlebek, Goodman, Long, Tracey.
Also present will be potential congressional candidates: for the 9th District — Cleveland, Elleson, Su; for the 8th District — Davis, Rice; for the 5th District — Hanson; for the 3rd District — Oakley; and candidates for Illinois Attorney General, Fioretti and Williams.
As a reminder, the chairman of the Cook County Republican Party, Aaron Del Mar, appointed Slobodan Bodo Jokić three months ago as the new Republican committeeman for Maine Township, one of the most important in Illinois.
Slobodan Bodo Jokić is a businessman and a respected member of the Serbian community. He has been involved in politics for eight and a half years as a member of the Republican Party.
Upon appointing Jokić, Del Mar emphasized that he comes with extensive experience in community work and great energy to strengthen the party in Chicago’s northwestern suburbs.
“Bodo Jokić is a proven community leader with a passion for strengthening our Republican Party and expanding our local presence. His dedication, energy, and vision will be a major asset as we continue to build a stronger organization in Cook County,” Del Mar said.
All candidates who seek to run in the future — whether for federal, state, or local positions in Maine Township — will need to receive Jokić’s blessing and support, which is why he is the organizer of the upcoming December 9 event.
