SENTENCE UP TO 15 YEARS IN PRISON: Indictment filed against driver of “death Skoda” from Sjenica!

A.K. (26) from Sjenica, who was driving the “Skoda” that killed Edisa Karišik (44) and her daughter Lejla Karišik (12), was questioned by the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Novi Pazar.

According to unofficial reports from Blic, A.K., suspected of causing the traffic accident in Sjenica, has been placed in custody.

The Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Novi Pazar issued an order on March 5, 2026, to conduct an investigation against A.K. (26) from Sjenica on suspicion that on March 3, 2026, in Ahmeta Abdagića Street in Sjenica, he committed a criminal offense – Serious Offenses Against Public Traffic Safety.

The suspect, A.K., was questioned on March 5, 2026, at the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Novi Pazar.

Following the questioning, the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office submitted a proposal to the Higher Court in Novi Pazar to place him in detention.

He faces up to 15 years in prison

A.K. (26) from Sjenica was arrested on suspicion that on March 3, around 9 p.m., he caused a severe traffic accident in which mother and daughter Edisa K. (44) and L.K. (12) were killed, while the son (9) sustained serious injuries and was urgently transported to Belgrade. A criminal complaint has been filed against A.K. on suspicion of committing a criminal offense – a serious offense against traffic safety, paragraph 2, punishable by five to 15 years in prison, Blic reports.

He was arrested immediately after the accident under the order of the prosecutor from the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Novi Pazar. He was detained for up to 48 hours, after which he will be brought before the prosecutor for questioning along with the criminal complaint.

Boy fighting for his life

The severe traffic accident occurred last night on the city transit route in Ahmeta Abdagića Street, resulting in two fatalities, while doctors are fighting to save the life of a third victim.

Following this tragedy, three days of mourning were declared in Sjenica.

A.K. had been a candidate for a councilor from Usame Zukorlić’s party, but he has not been politically active since.
