Russian missiles hit residential buildings in Odesa today at noon, killing at least 8 people and injuring 18, local authorities reported.

“In the Russian attack, eight people were killed, and 18 were injured, including one child. Four of the injured are in critical condition,” Oleh Kiper, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration (OVA), announced on Telegram.

According to Kiper, civilian infrastructure, including residential buildings, sustained significant damage.

Andriy Yermak, head of the Presidential Office, confirmed the attack, emphasizing the intentional targeting of civilians.

“In Odesa, the Russians killed people with a targeted strike on civilian infrastructure. Russian murderers don’t even hide their intentions,” he wrote.

President Volodymyr Zelensky quickly responded to the attack on Odesa, stating: “Russian terrorists launched ballistic missiles at a residential area in Odesa, hitting a parking lot. A residential building, a university, and an administrative building were also damaged.” He confirmed that 8 people were killed in the attack, and nearly twenty were injured.

“My condolences to the families and loved ones,” Zelensky said.

Ukrainian President added:

“These are not random strikes – these are demonstrative attacks. After talks and meetings with Putin and all the false claims in the media that Russia was allegedly ‘holding back’ on strikes, Russia is now showing its true intentions: only war.”

He emphasized that this message must be heard around the world, “from the halls of the G20 to every capital around the globe.”
