Ognjen Marković, a graduate of the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade who was part of the Sumud flotilla with a mission to break the Israeli blockade of Gaza and deliver humanitarian aid to Palestinians, has arrived in Belgrade after being deported by Israeli authorities.
Friends of visual artist Ognjen Marković, who was deported from Israel for participating in the flotilla carrying aid to Gaza, shared on social media that he has finally returned home. In a photo posted on the social network X, Ognjen is seen with his friends and mother.
The post emphasizes that Ognjen is back home, but that the genocide in Gaza is still ongoing and that Hamas still holds the hostages kidnapped on October 6.
“Serbia continues to sell weapons to Israel. Today, the organizations @nedavimobgd and @ZLF_poslanici submitted a draft resolution in the National Assembly condemning the genocide in Gaza, the violence against civilians, and Hamas attacks. The proposal calls for Serbia to impose sanctions on arms exports to the State of Israel. The resolution also urges the immediate dispatch of humanitarian aid and the investment of all diplomatic efforts to initiate peace negotiations and achieve lasting peace based on the two-state solution for Israel and Palestine. It calls for the condemnation of genocide and the introduction of sanctions on arms exports to Israel. It demands the release of all hostages held by both Hamas and the State of Israel, including Serbian citizens, and calls for additional diplomatic efforts to start peace negotiations for a lasting peace in the Middle East, based on the two-state solution for Israel and Palestine and the 1967 borders, with adjustments agreed upon by both sides,” the post reads alongside the photo.

Na žalost genocid u Gazi još traje, Hamas još uvek drži kidnapovane 06.oktobra.
Srbija i dalje prodaje oružje Izraelu.
Danas je takođe @nedavimobgd @ZLF_poslanici u Narodnoj skupštini podneo predlog rezolucije kojom se osuđuju genocid u Gazi, nasilje… pic.twitter.com/D6aMbEskia
Let us remind that Israeli naval forces intercepted nearly all the ships of the Global Sumud flotilla, an international mission that attempted to break the Israeli blockade of Gaza and deliver humanitarian aid to civilians in the war-torn Palestinian enclave.
Out of a total of 44 vessels in the flotilla, only one ship is still attempting to reach Gaza, while the others were redirected to the Israeli port of Ashdod, from where the activists will be deported to Europe.
There were about 500 activists aboard the ships from more than 40 countries, including parliamentarians, lawyers, journalists, and well-known public figures. Among them were Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg and Ognjen Marković from Serbia, who recorded a public message from the ship Adara.
The flotilla departed in late August from Spain and Italy, with stops in Greece and Tunisia, carrying symbolic quantities of food, medicine, and essential supplies for the people of Gaza.
