The German basketball players have become European champions for the second time in history. In the final in Riga, Germany won with the score 88:83 (24:22, 16:24, 26:21, 22:16). Previously, they won the title in 1993, when they were led by Svetislav Pešić.

Germany thus united the titles of European and World champions, which they won two years ago in the Philippines, when they defeated Serbia in the final.

Germany was led to the title by Partizan basketball player Isak Bonga, who finished the game with 20 points. Franz Wagner scored 18 points, Dennis Schröder 16, and Tristan Da Silva 13 points.

In the Turkish team, Alperen Şengün scored 28 points, but in the final he missed the last two attacks of Turkey and thus became a tragic hero.

Cedi Osman scored 23 points, Shane Larkin 13, and Adem Bona 12 points.

Almost the entire course of the game was a one-possession game.

The Turks had a six-point lead in the final, but they strung together six consecutive attacks without points, which the Germans used to catch up.

In the uncertain finish, a crucial three-pointer was scored by Daniel Theis, while Dennis Schröder hit the last six points for his team.
