Novak Djokovic, the greatest tennis player of all time, was injured at the Australian Open and could be out of action for several weeks, or even months.
Although Novak has accustomed us to always recovering quickly and successfully from various injuries, he has not yet officially announced which tournaments he will miss and how long he will be out, and the forecasts are not very good.
Chris Fowler, a tennis expert and ESPN commentator, believes that the situation with Djokovic’s injury is more serious than people think.

“That’s no joke. The rupture is quite deep. It’s the deepest part of the hamstring, and the problem is that it’s a big muscle. It’s deep and therefore difficult to heal properly. The hamstring is not well-supplied with blood, and therefore recovers more slowly than other muscles,” Fowler said, as reported by Forbes.
There is speculation that Djokovic will miss the tournament in Doha in February, as well as the Masters in Indian Wells and Miami.u.

“You can’t rush a hamstring injury. You have to be sure everything is okay before returning to the court. It’s common for such an injury to heal for several months.”
Last year at Roland Garros, Djokovic suffered a knee injury, which required surgery, but he quickly returned to the court and played in the Wimbledon final and won gold at the Olympic Games. Whether Djokovic will rush his recovery this time remains to be seen.

For now, we know that Djokovic has withdrawn from the Davis Cup for Serbia, while he has not yet withdrawn from Doha. Novak’s next big goal is Roland Garros, and until then he will probably also play two Masters on clay, to better prepare for his performances in Paris.
“Novak will be ready for Roland Garros, and for him, Grand Slams are the most important. Who can blame him at this point?” said legendary John McEnroe.
