The search for the suspect in a double murder in the village of Sokolac in Montenegro is yielding no results, and the locals are outraged and frightened. They claim to have informed the police about a suspicious person among them in the days prior.
Residents of the village of Sokolac in Bijelo Polje reported to the police over the past 10 days that an armed man was moving around the settlement, but there was no response from the authorities.
Residents told TVCG reporters that they were surprised because Tomaševo is a small and peaceful place, and they had warned the police in previous days about the presence of Balijagić, who was suspicious.

A brother and sister, Milanka and Jovan Madžgalj, were killed in the village of Sokolac in Bijelo Polje, while the suspect in the double murder is still on the run. The police say that all available units are in the field, and they are calling on citizens to be cautious.
A TVCG crew managed to reach the village of Sokolac this morning and get close to the house where the double murder took place last night.
The president of the Local Community of Tomaševo, Vesko Gogić, told TVCG that the residents had reported a man who had been moving from house to house for about 10 days and who had even shown them his weapon.
“Residents say they reported it until yesterday when he came to the house of Jovan Madžgalj (59) and his slightly older sister and they hosted him and gave him something to eat. However, he later returned and shot them from the window, killing them,” said Gogić.
The Police Administration officially announced that all available forces are involved in the search for the killer.
In the field are the police, intervention units, the anti-terrorist police unit (PTJ), the special police unit (PJP), the border police, the heads of all sectors of the Police Administration who lead and coordinate the search, drones, helicopters, and search dogs.
Almost the entire police used thermal imaging cameras in the search, and MUP helicopters flew over the vast forests and villages of the Vraneška valley throughout the day.
The Special Purpose Unit, an elite special unit of the Montenegrin Army, also joined the search last night, and its members were sent to the area where Balijagić is being sought.
It was only after the media published Balijagić’s photo that the Police Administration announced yesterday around 4 pm that this Bijelo Poljak could be linked to the double murder in the hamlet of Sokolac, near Tomaševo in Bijelo Polje.
“At this stage of the investigation, the Police Administration, on the basis of legal regulations and the appropriate consent of the competent prosecutor’s office, is publishing a photo of the person being sought, and informs and appeals to the public that if you see this person, immediately report the same information, i.e. inform the police by calling the duty number of the Bijelo Polje Security Department 067/184-844 or the toll-free number 122, the nearest police station or in another way. “Citizens can anonymously report information about this person to the police by calling these numbers,” the Police Administration announced yesterday afternoon.
They also appealed to the citizens of Bijelo Polje, especially to the residents of the Vraneška valley, to be cautious, stay in their homes and not allow unknown persons to enter.
