Thanks to the love and kindness of His Grace Bishop Jovan of Pakrac and Slavonia, a Holy Cross, crafted from the roof structure of the former Jasenovac concentration camp, has arrived to bless the Church of St. Archangel Michael in Doljani, the 13th parish of Podgorica, and its faithful people.
This was announced by Protopresbyter-Stavrophor Branko Tapušković, as reported by the official website of the Metropolitanate of Montenegro and the Littoral of the Serbian Orthodox Church. Father Branko added that the cross has been placed against the southern wall of the church, as reported by Borba.me.
“By venerating the Holy Cross, we suffer with the Lord in these days of the Easter Fast, and through prayer, we also share in the suffering of the New Martyrs of Jasenovac, as well as all those who have suffered for the Truth of the Lord throughout the centuries,” he stated.

Montenegro’s Resolution on Genocide in WWII Camps
As a reminder, Montenegro last year passed a resolution on the genocide committed in the Jasenovac, Dachau, and Mauthausen concentration camps, becoming the first country in the world to adopt such a resolution, recognizing the suffering of the Serbian people in these horrific WWII camps.
Official Croatia strongly opposed the resolution, stating that it was unnecessary and that it represented a “poke in the eye” to Zagreb’s government. In response, Croatian authorities banned three Montenegrin politicians from entering Croatia due to their role in adopting the resolution condemning Nazi war crimes.
