Regular elections in 10 local self-government units in Serbia began at 7:00 a.m. Polling stations will be open until 8:00 p.m. Today, elections are being held for councilors of the City Assembly of Bor, for the municipal assemblies of Smederevska Palanka, Bajina Bašta, Kula, Lučani, Aranđelovac, Kladovo, Knjaževac and Majdanpek, and for the assembly of the city municipality of Sevojno.

Seven lists are participating in the elections for councilors of the City Assembly of Bor; in Smederevska Palanka, Bajina Bašta and Lučani, six lists are participating in the local assembly elections; in Aranđelovac and Kula, five lists; in Knjaževac, Majdanpek and Sevojno, four each; and in Kladovo, three electoral lists.

The election silence lasts until 8:00 p.m.

According to Article 59 of the Law on Local Elections, the election commission adopts and publishes the overall report on the results of local elections within 96 hours from the closing of polling stations.

The previous elections in these 10 local self-government units were held on April 3, 2022.

MEC Smederevska Palanka: Elections at 49 polling stations proceeding without irregularities so far

The Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Election Commission (MEC) in the Municipality of Smederevska Palanka, Gordana Kostić, stated that voting in the local elections began this morning at 49 polling stations in that local self-government and that everything is proceeding without irregularities so far.

38,933 voters have the right to vote in Smederevska Palanka, and voting is taking place at 49 polling stations.

In Bor, about three percent of registered voters had voted by 8:00 a.m.

Turnout in the local elections in Bor by 8:00 a.m. is about three percent of registered voters, said the Secretary of the Municipal Election Commission, Ljubinka Jelić.

Jelić told Tanjug that 1,206 voters had cast their ballots by 8:00 a.m.

She also stated that all polling stations opened on time and that minor irregularities were observed, which were quickly resolved.

She added that more than 800 observers and five foreign delegations accredited to monitor the elections are following today’s elections.

Turnout updates will be published every two hours.

In Kladovo, 2.8 percent of registered voters had voted by 8:00 a.m.

Turnout in the local elections in Kladovo by 8:00 a.m. is 2.8 percent of registered voters, said Vesna Ćeha, a member of the Municipal Election Commission in Kladovo.

She told Tanjug that 597 voters had voted by 8:00 a.m. In the territory of the Municipality of Kladovo, 21,085 registered voters have the right to vote at 31 polling stations.

The Municipal Assembly of Kladovo has 28 council seats, and three electoral lists are participating in the elections for the Municipal Assembly of Kladovo.

Snežana Popović: In Aranđelovac, elections are proceeding in the best order so far, higher turnout than before

The first hour of voting at polling stations in the local elections in Aranđelovac is proceeding in the best order, said the spokesperson of the Municipal Election Commission, Snežana Popović, noting that turnout is currently estimated to be higher than in previous elections.

Popović told Tanjug that all polling boards were at their polling stations as early as 6:00 a.m.
