Ljupka Katana left her hometown of Čajniče for Belgrade due to war. Years later, she moved to Chicago, this time for knowledge. This young Doctor of Political Science is now a professor at Webster University, where she teaches her students, future politicians and leaders, that the greatest power is precisely that which shapes the world, society, and relationships within it without force or coercion.

But that’s not all. Our Ljupka successfully practices psychology, helping young people struggling with drug addiction and depression. She is also well on her way to becoming an Argentine tango dance instructor, and still finds time for fashion and modeling.

See what she told our editor Antonije Kovačević in an interview about her journey from a small Bosnian town to the big city of Chicago, about adapting to other cultures and customs, the struggle for a place in the sun, encounters with radical Islamic students, and the nostalgia she feels for her homeland…
