A Ukrainian trace could be found in the attack on the pipeline between Serbia and Hungary, stated Kremlin representative Dmitry Peskov.

A day earlier, the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, announced that a bomb was found near the pipeline used to transport Russian gas. The head of the counterintelligence service, Djuro Jovanic, specified that the suspect for organizing the attack is a migrant with military training.

Peskov recalled that Kyiv has repeatedly carried out similar diversions, attempting, for example, to damage parts of “TurkStream” and “Blue Stream.”

“With a high probability, it can be assumed that this time as well, some traces of interference by the Kyiv regime will be discovered,” he pointed out.

According to him, the Kremlin hopes that Hungary and Serbia will strengthen the protection of the facilities through which they receive Russian gas. Moscow also counts on the fact that Ankara warned Volodymyr Zelensky about the inadmissibility of attacks on critical infrastructure facilities.

Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs Peter Szijjarto stated on Sunday that Budapest, Moscow, Belgrade, and Ankara agreed to strengthen the protection of “TurkStream.” The minister accused Ukraine of attempting to sabotage the pipeline, which is of key importance for his country’s gas supply.
