Five preseason games were played on Sunday night into Monday. Nikola Jokić was in action and had a notable performance in Denver’s 118-114 loss to Phoenix.
Slowly but surely, the machine is reaching its operating temperature. Despite a rather busy summer, Nikola Jokić is showing that he will be chasing the championship ring with Denver again next season, and he himself will be aiming for another MVP award.

Denver lost to Phoenix, but Jokić had a game-level performance. He scored 21 points (9/16 shooting from the field, 0/3 from three-point range), grabbed 14 rebounds, and had nine assists. Porter and Strauter also had 21 points each for Denver. Dario Šarić recorded six points and rebounds each, along with two assists, while Čančar had a rebound and an assist. On the other side, Dan and Morris scored 20 points each.
Portland defeated Sacramento 105-85. For the winners, Deni Avdija recorded five points (2/8 from the field, 1/4 from three-point range), five rebounds, and two assists. The Knicks were better than Minnesota 115-110, for whom Luka Garza recorded six points and five rebounds.
Toronto, with Darko Rajaković, was defeated by the reigning champion Boston Celtics 115-111, while Golden State defeated Detroit 111-93.
