In an Israeli airstrike that hit a school previously turned into a shelter, at least 20 people were killed, including children, in the central Gaza Strip, according to a statement today from a nearby hospital in the occupied Palestinian enclave.
In this Israeli attack, which took place on Sunday evening, two women were also killed in nearby Nuseirat, reports AP.

The school was providing protection for a large number of Palestinians displaced during the year-long war in the Gaza Strip, and the bodies of those killed in last night’s Israeli airstrike were transferred to Al-Avda Hospital in Nuseirat and the Martyrs Al-Aqsa Hospital in Deir al-Balah.
According to data from the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza, over 42,000 Palestinians, including civilians and Hamas fighters, have been killed in Israeli bombings and during ground operations by Israeli forces in the occupied Palestinian enclave.
