The massive jackpot from Wednesday’s drawing, which is the eighth-largest in Powerball history, was won with a single ticket sold at a Hy-Vee gas station on the Illinois-Missouri border, at 310 N. 36th St. in Quincy. According to lottery officials, it is the largest Powerball prize won this year.

“Congratulations to our newest Powerball jackpot winner in Illinois,” said Stephen Darel, chairman of the Powerball Product Group and CEO of the Kansas Lottery, in a statement. “For more than three decades, Powerball has shown that a winning ticket can be sold anywhere the game is played, giving every $2 ticket a chance to change the lives not only of the winner, but of entire generations.”
