Goran Ivanišević, former coach of Novak Đoković, revealed how impressed he was by the Serb’s work at Wimbledon and offered a bold and unusually optimistic prediction.

The Croatian strategist, now working with Stefanos Tsitsipas, had the opportunity to be on the other side of the net from Đoković. Tsitsipas and the Serb trained together before the start of Wimbledon, and Ivanišević has no doubt that we could see Novak lifting the trophy.

“To me, he’s the favorite here. The other day he trained with Stefanos, and watching him from the other side, it’s such an ease of playing tennis. He is by far the best grass-court player here. In my opinion, he and Sinner will definitely play in the semifinals, and to me, he is the favorite. Sinner has never beaten him here. This isn’t his only chance; he also has the US Open,” Đoković’s former coach told “Sport Klub.”

He doesn’t have an ounce of doubt in Đoković at any point; he even expects something more from him.

“You never know with him. It’s such an ease of movement; the ball goes 300 miles an hour for him. It’s a question of motivation, whether he’s ready. If he wins here, he won’t stop at 25. He can’t… I don’t know where the Olympics are after Los Angeles. You never know with him,” Ivanišević said with a laugh.
