After the tragic shooting that occurred on Thursday, December 4, in the evening hours in the settlement of Sitnice in Croatia, it has been confirmed today that one of the victims, a 28-year-old woman, died from the injuries she sustained. In the attack by a 40-year-old man, her 29-year-old sister was also seriously injured. The police are still intensively searching for the perpetrator, the police reported.
Milorad Mihanović, a city councilor in Mursko Središće, who was personally connected to the victims, commented on the difficult situation in Sitnice, reports emeđimurje.
“She was a mother of three children and pregnant”
“There are no words that can describe my sorrow and my pain. I grew up with them, my parents are their godparents. A great sadness has fallen over Sitnice,” said Mihanović.
“Vanesa, who passed away, was the mother of three children, and when she was shot she was also pregnant. We are all in shock. We are praying for her sister to survive,” he added, visibly shaken.

Angry and outraged by the tragedy, Mihanović issued a strong appeal to all citizens, regardless of nationality: “I appeal to everyone – surrender illegal weapons! Do not play with your own and other people’s lives! Even if you have only one bullet, hand it over!”
The police are intensively searching for the perpetrator, a man from Piškorovec, who fled after the shooting. According to Sitnice residents, he had allegedly had problems with the law before.
