Mile Jeremić, the famous Serb who lived on Skiathos and who helped Serbian tourists visiting the well-known Greek island for years, has died. The news of his death was published on the Facebook page Grčka uživo (Greece Live).

We share the entire announcement:

“We inform lovers of Greece that, sadly, Mile Jeremić of Skiathos passed away two days ago. Most of us who have been in tourism for years knew him, and this is certainly a loss for the family and his friends, but also a loss for the industry, and for Skiathos itself, where he worked for years and connected it to the Serbian market. We believe that many of you met him personally. At the wish of his son, we bid farewell to Mile with the following text accompanying the photo he wanted us to publish:

After hundreds of married couples, after countless people helped, after thousands of guests welcomed and seen off, the moment has come for us to see off our Mile. Zeus from Olympus greets you all, and Mile from Skiathos.

May his glory be eternal and thank you,” the Facebook post reads.

This news saddened numerous group members, who revealed that they had the honor of meeting Mile.

“We were lucky and met Mile during our stay on Skiathos, I am so sorry,” “Locals on Skiathos always had kind words about the late Mile. May God grant him a heavenly sanctuary and eternal peace,” “He was a good man, he helped tourists on Skiathos and us when we were there, may he rest in peace,” “He was a good man, he helped our people on the island, thanks to him we loved Skiathos long ago,” “Condolences to the family, I don’t believe it, it means he solved the unsolvable, glory to him,” are just some of the comments in the group.

According to people’s experiences, the first association many had with Skiathos was Mile Jeremić. He welcomed thousands of people to the island, helped many, booked tickets, accommodation, shared information and notifications, and went out of his way to meet the needs of everyone who turned to him for help.
