The Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Kruševac has proposed to the court that a 30-day detention order be issued for a man from Donji Rataj, suspected of the aggravated murder of his common-law wife.
The suspect, D.I. (23), gave a statement to the prosecutor’s office in which he partially confessed to committing the aggravated murder of D.M., as charged, the prosecutor’s office announced. He is suspected of inflicting multiple blows to the head and body of his 23-year-old romantic partner, resulting in her death.

The prosecution also states that D.I., as a young adult, was sentenced on June 13, 2020, to a correctional measure of placement in a correctional institution for the attempted aggravated murder of a minor, which was suspended from further execution in 2023. As the media reported at the time, D.I., who was 19 years old at the time, was arrested in 2020 for stabbing his pregnant common-law wife D.M. with a knife.
