Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has arrived in Belgrade for a two-day official visit. He was welcomed at Belgrade Airport “Nikola Tesla) by Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić.

A formal welcoming ceremony will be held tomorrow in front of the Palace of Serbia.

A meeting between the two presidents will follow, and then the fourth session of the High Council for Cooperation between Serbia and Turkey and the signing of cooperation agreements, in the presence of Vučić and Erdoğan.

As announced, Vučić and Erdoğan will attend a business forum.

From Belgrade, Erdoğan will travel to the Russian city of Kazan, where the BRICS Summit will be held. A meeting with Vladimir Putin is also expected.

According to earlier information from Nova.rs, the main topic of Erdoğan’s visit could be the procurement of Turkish “Bayraktars”.

These are military drones that Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has been announcing for years. However, there is one obstacle on that path, and that is Kosovo.

Turkish media write that with visits to Tirana and then Belgrade, their president is starting a “diplomatic marathon”, as after Belgrade he will also go to the Russian city of Kazan for the BRICS Summit. There could be several topics, but one stands out – the purchase of Turkish “Bayraktars”.
