The Municipality of Ljubovija has decided that today will be a Day of Mourning in remembrance of the death of Radiša Mijailović, which occurred during the Drina Regatta event.
“In memory and respect for the deceased, the Day of Mourning will be marked by lowering flags to half-mast on the Municipal Administration building, as well as on all public institutions and enterprises founded by the Municipality of Ljubovija,” the municipality announced on its Facebook page.
During the Day of Mourning, broadcasting of folk, pop, and other cheerful music is prohibited, as is the organization of public events and entertainment programs. Electronic and other media operating in the municipality of Ljubovija are obliged to align their programming content with the observance of the Day of Mourning, the statement added.
Radiša Mijailović lost his life on Saturday during the Drina Regatta, after which the municipality announced that the remaining program within the “Drina Regatta Days” event in Ljubovija has been canceled.
