Actor and director Dragan Bjelogrlić, who was on trial for assaulting director Predrag Antonijević at the “Ambasador” hotel in Niš, was today sentenced to a six-month suspended sentence, with a probation period of two years.
Both the defense and the injured party have the right to appeal this verdict.

The investigation, in this case, was conducted in Niš, but after the indictment was filed against Bjelogrlić, the Basic Court in Niš requested that the case be delegated to a Belgrade court, which the Supreme Court of Cassation (VKS) approved for reasons of procedural expediency, since both the accused and the injured party, as well as the defense attorney and witnesses, are all from Belgrade.
For the record, the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office in Niš filed an indictment against Bjelogrlić on November 26, 2021, accusing him of assaulting director Predrag Antonijević in the early hours of August 23, 2021, at the “Ambasador” hotel in Niš.
Bjelogrlić was charged with the criminal offense of violent behavior, and the prosecution asked the court to sentence him to six months in prison.
Incidentally, the two directors met in the Niš Hotel on the occasion of the 56th Film Festival.
