The President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, underwent successful surgery today in Belgrade, his office announced.
After a complex surgical procedure lasting several hours, which began at 8:00 AM, President Dodik was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit, according to the President’s Office. Due to acute pain, President Dodik was hospitalized in Belgrade yesterday and it was determined that surgery on the esophagus and stomach was necessary.

The statement said that the surgery was performed at a clinic specializing in this type of disease, with the involvement and consultation of doctors from Republika Srpska.
The statement adds that the President of Republika Srpska thanked foreign statesmen and all the people of Republika Srpska for the messages of support and wishes for a speedy recovery that he received yesterday and today.
“The public will be informed in a timely manner about the health condition of the President of Republika Srpska,” the statement from the President’s Office reads.
