The Denver Nuggets basketball players achieved a victory against the Los Angeles Clippers in front of their home fans, with a score of 131:115, giving the Colorado team a 3-2 lead in the Western Conference quarterfinals of the NBA league.
What a game the Denver Nuggets played – finally, not everything depended on Nikola Jokić. It is obvious that the fourth game and Aaron Gordon’s crazy dunk meant a lot to David Adelman’s team, just like the return of Russell Westbrook.
From the first second, the Nuggets looked powerful on the court, and already in the first quarter, they had a double-digit lead. They maintained the lead throughout the game, the Clippers could not get close at all, even though they had a motivated Bogdan Bogdanović in their ranks, so the Nuggets came one step closer to victory and advancing to the next round.
Jamal Murray stole the show in this encounter, being unstoppable and finishing with 43 points, including as many as eight three-pointers. Aaron Gordon had 23, Russell Westbrook 21, while Nikola Jokić was only the sixth-best scorer for his team, but he recorded another triple-double – he had 13 points, 12 assists, and ten rebounds.
MAKE IT 43 POINTS ‼️

On the other side, Bogdan Bogdanović was excellent, and towards the end of the third quarter, he was on the verge of a fight with Westbrook. The captain of the Eagles finished the game with 18 points and five assists, and only Ivica Zubac with 27, and Kawhi Leonard with 20 points, 11 assists, and nine rebounds were more efficient than him.
From the start, it was clear that Denver was better prepared for the fifth game. The game started with four consecutive points from Gordon, followed by Murray and Porter, so the Nuggets, even without Nikola Jokić’s scoring contribution, reached a double-digit lead (17:6) by the middle of the first quarter.
They jealously guarded it until the end of the first quarter, Jokić also got going, collecting five points and six assists after 12 minutes, and on the wings of a motivated Jamal Murray, the Nuggets had a significant 35:23 lead after the first quarter.
At the beginning of the second quarter, we saw a flurry of shots from both sides – Murray carried Denver, while Bogdan Bogdanović caught fire for the visitors, playing his best game of the series without a doubt. He hit a three-pointer, then a two-pointer, and then another shot from beyond the arc. However, even that was not enough for the Clippers to reduce the deficit – it was maintained by Murray, but also by the excellent Russell Westbrook, who returned and showed how much Denver had missed him.
However, the Clippers did not allow Denver to gain an insurmountable lead before halftime, and at the end of the second quarter, despite Jokić scoring six points, they reduced it to an acceptable minus eight (67:59).
The beginning of the third quarter belonged to Denver. A basket by Murray, followed by a three-pointer by Porter, forced Lue to call a timeout after less than a minute.
This period also belonged to the brilliant Jamal Murray, who reminded everyone of his best days – the Canadian hit two consecutive three-pointers, both assisted by Jokić, which also gave him a double-double in the third quarter, so Denver pulled away to a large +17 (80:63).
The Clippers tried to come back, and in the absence of points from their mainstays, Bogdan Bogdanović took matters into his own hands. Our guard was scoring from everywhere, which obviously irritated Russell Westbrook, so we almost saw them fight at the end of the third quarter. However, the referees calmed everything down and ultimately gave both of them a technical foul.

Denver continued to roll, and with three-pointers from Brown and Porter at the end of the third and the beginning of the fourth quarter, they pulled away to a large 19-point lead (102:83).
It was clear at those moments that the Clippers were facing another defeat and that there was no chance for another comeback. Only the final result of the game was awaited, as well as whether Nikola Jokić would record a triple-double, and how many points Murray would finish the game with.
Our center recorded his tenth rebound with two minutes left in the game, Jamal finished the duel with 43 points, while Denver celebrated with 131:115 and once again has the advantage in the series.
The sixth game is scheduled for Friday morning, and the exact time is still unknown.
