The student list is supported by 44 percent of citizens, and the bloc led by the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić by 32 percent, according to research conducted by CRTA.

The student list is supported by 44 percent of citizens, and the bloc led by the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić by 32 percent, nearly two-thirds of citizens see the calling of early elections as a way out of the crisis, and almost every third voter of the ruling parties believes that elections should be called.

These are the results of public opinion research conducted by the Center for Research, Transparency and Accountability (CRTA) from September 13 to 27.

„43 percent of citizens believe that it is not important who will replace Vučić in power, and 39 percent think that things would be worse for us without him, which most clearly illustrates the referendum atmosphere and the division of society,“ CRTA announced.

The research also showed that the share of citizens with a moderate or undecided attitude towards the protests against the government is decreasing – 58 percent support them, and 39 percent do not support them.

CRTA pointed to the polarization of society in the research it conducted and stated that it is also reflected in what each side recognizes as Serbia’s biggest problems – for 26 percent of citizens the biggest problem is systemic corruption, and for 20 percent of them it is students and blockades.

„Among those who support Vučić and who see students as the biggest problem, the majority are older people, as well as citizens with a lower level of education and those for whom pro-government media are the main source of information,“ CRTA stated.

According to this research, more than half of the citizens believe that Serbia is going in the wrong direction, while a third believe that it is on the right track.

„Almost identical findings were present at the beginning of the student protests, in December 2024. Citizens who believe that the country is moving in the wrong direction are mostly those who support the protests and cite anger, fury, and concern as the prevailing feelings,“ CRTA announced.

The survey was conducted by telephone, on a representative national sample of 2020 respondents.
