A student was injured when a section of the ceiling fell at the Gymnasium in Bečej. According to initial and unofficial information, the student sustained a hand injury. The incident, as stated by school director Milorad Basarić, occurred during class.

A portion of the ceiling collapsed in one of the classrooms, as can be seen in numerous photos of the incident published on social media.

Police and emergency medical teams reportedly arrived at the scene, with the latter providing care for the injured student.

Gymnasium director Miodrag Basarić confirmed the incident to Nova.rs.

“A part of the ceiling fell during class. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured. The crisis team is currently in session, we are collecting all data, and we will inform the public about the entire incident in due time,” he told Nova.rs.
