BUTLER SAVED, MONEKE DECIDED: Zvezda defeated Baskonia in overtime to return to the battle for the Top 6! (VIDEO)

The red-and-whites defeated Baskonia in Vitoria after overtime in Round 33 with a score of 108:100 (28:27, 14:25, 24:15, 25:24, 17:9).

An incredible drama was seen in the final game of Round 33 of the EuroLeague, and Zvezda recorded a victory in a match it had to win. First, it was saved by Džered Butler with a three-pointer for overtime, and then in overtime Čima Moneke played as if in a trance and brought the win for a return to the battle for the Top 6!

Zvezda opened the game well through Nwora, who quickly scored eight points on his own, and Zvezda had a nine-point lead at one moment, going up 20:11, but Baskonia responded with an 8:0 run, and by the end of the first quarter we watched an even contest, with Zvezda leading 28:27.

Zvezda started the second quarter very poorly, nervously on offense and with bad defense, so Baskonia built a double-digit lead by the end of the period. Zvezda conceded as many as 52 points by halftime, and it was clear that something had to change in the second half.

Zvezda again started the next period poorly, which Baskonia used to increase the lead and reach a maximum of +13, which they held on two occasions.

Then, late in the third quarter, Diakite made a huge mistake and after his fourth foul began to lash out at the referees and his own bench, after which he received a technical foul and was ejected from the game.

Zvezda took advantage and quickly cut the deficit, reducing it to just half a point by the end of the third quarter.

A good stretch followed for Zvezda, which had a six-point lead late, but Luwawu brought Baskonia back to life with two three-pointers!

Baskonia even had a great chance to secure the win, as it led by three, but Butler hit a three-pointer to force overtime, after which Zvezda played good defense and stayed alive.

Overtime followed in which Čima Moneke completely dominated and ultimately brought a gold-worthy victory to Zvezda.
