Belgrade police are intensively searching for a man who, according to the injured woman’s statement, inflicted a stab wound on S.R. (23) this morning in the Belgrade neighborhood of Voždovac.
The incident occurred early this morning, around 6 a.m., in Narednika Dragutina Radakovića Street. According to initial information, the woman was transported to the Emergency Center by taxi, where doctors determined that she had sustained an injury to the facial area caused by a sharp object.
Identity of the suspect known
While giving her initial statement, S.R. told doctors and police officers that she sustained the injuries after a conflict with her emotional partner. According to her, he is a citizen of Afghanistan with whom she had been in a relationship.
Police immediately arrived at the scene and conducted an investigation. All operational actions are currently being taken to locate and identify the suspected man, and footage from surveillance cameras in the vicinity of the incident is also being reviewed.
After receiving medical assistance, the woman left the Emergency Center.
The competent prosecutor’s office has been informed of the entire incident and is coordinating the further work of the police on this case. The investigation is expected to determine all the circumstances that led to this incident, as well as the exact legal qualification of the act.
