Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić announced that the removal of the tents from the plateau in front of the National Assembly would begin on Sunday evening and that a New Year’s village would be set up at that location, while Nikola Pašić Square will be reopened to traffic only after the New Year.

As reported by N1, all tents that had been located on the roadway were removed overnight, and construction of new booths that will be part of the announced New Year’s village is currently underway.

Workers have unofficially confirmed that the works will be completed tomorrow, so the opening of the New Year’s village is expected on December 31. After nine months, the plateau in front of the National Assembly will soon be accessible to all citizens, and SNS supporters organized a “farewell” celebration last night on the occasion of the tent removal.

Within Pionirski Park itself, a small number of tents and a metal fence are still present, while the “checkpoint” that had been located near the roundabout has been relocated.
