German police shot and seriously wounded a 25-year-old Croat in Zassenberg, after he allegedly previously attacked police officers with two knives, the public prosecutor’s office and the police announced, “Bild” reports.
According to reports, despite repeated requests from the police, he refused to stop.
Then one of the police officers shot the attacker in the upper part of the body.
The Croat suffered serious injuries, but not life-threatening ones, and was transferred to the hospital.
According to the investigators, it was a neighborhood dispute, and the incident happened on Friday at about 2.30 p.m.
At one point, the 25-year-old man allegedly pulled out two knives, which he later used to threaten the police.
The Croat, the German newspaper reports, slightly injured a 39-year-old man and another neighbor (50) with the weapon, and then fled.
