Serbian national team powerlifter Marija Jovanović is preparing for a major challenge — an international competition to be held on November 2 in Cetinje, where she will compete in the senior category and defend the colors of Serbia.
Jovanović is already a well-known name in domestic powerlifting — she holds as many as six national records and is a two-time Balkan champion, making her one of the most successful athletes in this sport in our country.
Preparations for the upcoming competition are being carried out under the expert supervision of coach Dušan Josvanović, within the Belgrade-based club Dušan Silni, which is currently the most successful powerlifting club in Serbia.
“Powerlifting is an extremely demanding sport that requires a lot of discipline, strength, and sacrifice, but unfortunately, it often doesn’t get the attention it deserves. I hope that raising public awareness about this sport will help athletes who represent Serbia gain more recognition and support,” said Jovanović.
Marija Jovanović will compete in Cetinje for new medals and once again try to confirm that she is among the best in the region.
