THE MINISTRY INVITED STUDENTS: The refund of 50 percent of tuition fees begins, here is who can apply and how!

The Ministry of Education will pay funds during October to self-financing students of higher education institutions founded by the Republic of Serbia to cover 50 percent of the tuition fees paid for the 2024/2025 school year, the Ministry of Education announced today.

Self-financing students will be paid the full amount of 50 percent of the funds they paid to the faculties for tuition fees up until September 30, 2025.

Since the reimbursement of funds is done exclusively via the Student Card, the Ministry of Education reminds all students who do not have a Student Card to apply for its opening through the Treasury Administration portal, at the address ZSK.

The payment of funds is made based on data about self-financing students that higher education institutions submit to the Ministry of Education through the Unified Education Information System (JISP). The Ministry of Education reminds all higher education institutions that they have an obligation to enter and update data in the JISP so that no student is deprived of exercising this right.

The Law on Amendments to the Law on Higher Education enabled self-financing students of higher education institutions founded by the Republic, if they are citizens of the Republic of Serbia, to realize the right to cover 50 percent of their costs based on the reference tuition fee they paid in the current school year, that the student realizes the right to cover costs based on the total amount of tuition paid, for every year of study the student enrolled in for the first time, i.e., for all subjects the student enrolled in for the first time, and that the student can realize the right to cover costs for only one study program at the same level of study.
