Crvena Zvezda basketball team suffered a defeat against Asvel with a score of 77:74 in the 10th round of the Euroleague. With this loss, Zvezda now has a 5-5 record, while Asvel is at 3-7. In the next round on November 21st, Crvena Zvezda will host Partizan in a big Serbian derby.

Zvezda played a terrible first half. The red-and-whites couldn’t hit anything. They missed three-pointers, mid-range shots, and free throws. Asvel wasn’t brilliant either, but they seemed to enter the game with more energy, more aggressively, and dominated the offensive rebounds.

The home team led from the start of the match, and the red-and-whites had only one lead when Teodosić hit a three-pointer for 15:16, but it was short-lived. Asvel regained the lead which grew and at the end of the half, with a three-pointer by Cauley, reached a maximum of +11, 43:32.

Zvezda played a much better defense in the second half, but their shot wasn’t working at all. However, Zvezda’s aggressive play paid off, and with a three-pointer by Kenan in the 27th minute, they were only -2, 51:49.

However, Asvel did not allow a complete turnaround and, with good defense, resisted Zvezda’s attacks and had a solid 58:51 before the last quarter. After a three-pointer by Maledon, the home team gained a double-digit lead at the beginning of the last quarter, but then a fantastic series of 11:0 by Zvezda gave them the lead.

A thrilling finish followed. Zvezda, with a three-pointer by Kenan, had 71:74, a minute before the end of the game, but that was it. Thanks to De Colo and the brilliant Maledon, the home team scored six points and recorded a valuable victory.
